BEST NEWS EVER! KING Washes Feet!! Resurrection Easter Sunday 2021

Jesus’ actions leading up to the cross were intentional in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm. What is the message in these actions? The message is that His motives are pure.

Two Lessons:

  1. He bathes us with His blood.
  2. He washes us with His Word.

John 13:4 – The Passion Translation – “So he got up from the meal and took off his outer robe, and took a towel and wrapped it around his waist.”

Jesus is the Son of God. He performed miracles, rose people from the dead, released people of demonic bondage, and many more miracles and healings. And now, He is washing the feet of the disciples. The King of the Universe is washing the dirty and sand blasted feet of His chosen disciples. He is on His knees, doing the lowliest job of the lowliest servant in a household.

John 13:6-8 – The Passion Translation – “But when Jesus got to Simon Peter, he objected and said, “I can’t let you wash my dirty feet—you’re my Lord!” Jesus replied, “You don’t understand yet the meaning of what I’m doing, but soon it will be clear to you.” Peter looked at Jesus and said, “You’ll never wash my dirty feet—never!” “But Peter, if you don’t allow me to wash your feet,” Jesus responded, “then you will not be able to share life with me.”

Peter is not wanting our Lord to wash his feet. Our Lord tells Peter that if He doesn’t wash his feet, then Peter is not a part of Him. Allow Jesus to wash all parts of you. All false gods/idols can not save you! Next Peter exclaims, “Don’t stop with my feet, wash all of me!”

John 13:10 – The Passion Translation – 10 Jesus said to him, “You are already clean. You’ve been washed completely and you just need your feet to be cleansed—but that can’t be said of all of you.” For Jesus knew which one was about to betray him,” The bathing speaks to justification and the washing of the body. The washing of the feet speaks to sanctification which is a life long washing of ourselves.

#1 Bathed us with His Blood – We are clean. We are justified. We are washed by the blood of the Lamb. We are JUSTIFIED which is just as if we have never sinned in the first place. The unrighteous become righteous.

#2 Washed us with His Word – He continuously washes us which is SANCTIFICATION. The world can stick to us. We need the world washed off of us. We need a spiritual cleansing. We get dirty just from walking thru this world. His children are IN this world, but we are not OF THIS WORLD.

Ephesians 5:25-26 – The Passion Translation – 25 “And to the husbands, you are to demonstrate love for your wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us, his bride. For he died for us, sacrificing himself 26 to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God.”

Jesus washes us with His WORD so that we can be holy and without blemish. The WORD confronts what is on our shoes and what is on our feet. The WORD washes the world off of our shoes and our feet. We are SANCTIFIED in TRUTH.

John 17:17 – The Passion Translation – 17 “Your Word is truth! So make them holy by the truth.”

Listen to this example of having the world stuck on you. Being offended by others is like stepping on poop. Offenses can remain in your heart for decades in length. Jesus says to forgive and forget. Allow the King to wash the poop off of your shoes and forgive the offender and release the poop. Allow the WORD to wash you white as snow.

PRAISE GOD!! Be refreshed from unforgiveness!! Be made clean!!

Alleluia!! Alleluia!!

Allow the King to wash your feet!!!

This demonstrates Christ’s heart for us. He is not shocked by the dirt on our feet and He stoops down to relieve us from the dirt!

Praise God!!! In heaven, we will be clean forever more!
